pruritus pruritus and pregnancy plaque PUPPP , known in the UK as pregnancy eruption polymorphism ( PEP ), is a rash like a chronic rash that attacking several women during pregnancy. Although very irritating to the sufferer (due to itching), it does not pose a long-term risk to the mother or unborn baby. PUPPP often starts in the stomach and spreads to the legs, legs, arms, chest, and neck.
Papules and plaques usually begin to appear in the abdomen (although not on the umbilicus/navel) and often spread to the legs, chest, armpits, etc. The face is usually also spared and seems unaffected.
Skin distension (stretching) is a common factor in PUPPP, which is more common in mothers with large fundus measurements and/or those who carry large babies, twins, and triplets. Papules and plaques often appear first in a stretch line.
Some studies reveal that this condition is more common in women who bring boys, although no formal studies have been conducted. Statistics say that 70% of PUPPP sufferers bear boys.
PUPPP occurs in about 1 in every 200 pregnancies.

The cause of this condition is generally unknown. This skin condition occurs mainly in the first pregnancy (primigravida), in the third trimester and is more likely to occur in multiple pregnancies (more often with triplets than twins or single pregnancies).
In addition to the additional associations with hypertension and labor induction, no differences were observed in maternal or infant outcomes.

Treatment
Calming mild cases during pregnancy mainly consists of a topical moisturizing cream application or aqueous/emollient ointment. Class I or II corticosteroid creams and ointments are used in more aggressive cases, and oral (systemic) corticosteroids can be used to treat very severe cases - although the benefits of high-potency pregnant women's corticosteroids should be carefully weighed against the possibilities (and mostly unknown) risks to developing fetuses or fetuses. Rarely, in extraordinarily persistent and troublesome cases, some women have induced labor as soon as they are considered to be within a period of (37 weeks).
Tablets of antihistamines can be prescribed to provide relief from itching, although they are generally considered less effective than corticosteroid treatment, and can act as little more than sleep aid.
Soap tar/body wash can bring relief as it can keep skin cool like through a cold shower or ice cloth.
In most cases, PUPPP recovers spontaneously within a week of delivery. However, some women continue to experience symptoms long into the postpartum period.
