Julie Nelson is a television host for the channel KARE 11 (NBC affiliate) in Minneapolis-St. Paul's metro area in Minnesota. He started working at KARE-TV in September 2003, and is currently anchor 5, 6 and 10 nights. news broadcast. Before joining KARE-TV, Nelson anchored at 6 pm. and 10 pm evening newscast on channel KSTP 5 (ABC affiliate). Month after arriving at KSTP, he was named "Best Newcomer" by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine . A year later, the magazine named her one of the "One Hundred People Should Be Watched" in the area. He has won regional Emmys for marking, Regional Murrow awards, Eric Sevareid awards, and 3 "Best TV Newscaster" Awards from the Town Pages.

Born on November 12, 1971, Nelson grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where he graduated, with praise, in 1990 from the H.S. Eau Claire Memorial

Nelson received his Bachelor's degree in journalism and history from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in 1994. He volunteers his time for causes such as Habitat for Humanity, Treehouse, Christian Restoration Center, Wooddale Church, and Feeding My Hungry Kids and Serving at the Indiana University Board of Alumni of Journalism School from 2002-2005. She is married to her hometown sweetheart, and has two children.
