Bulk foods are foods offered in bulk, which can be purchased in bulk, mostly or transferred from bulk containers into smaller containers for purchase. Bulk foods may be cheaper than packaged foods because they are usually packaged in large bulk packaging and packaging for grocery stores, which use lower natural resources. In addition, fewer packs are aligned with the preservation of the natural resources environment and sustainability. One study found a 96% reduction in packaging used for bulk foods compared to packaged foods.
