NBC Sports Chicago is an American regional sports network owned by NBC Universal's NBC Sports Group (which owns 20%, and is owned by Comcast, the major cable provider in the Chicago market), the Chicago Cubs Joseph Ricketts (who owns 20%), owner of Chicago Bulls and White Sox, Jerry Reinsdorf (who owns a 40% majority stake), and owner of Chicago Blackhawks, Rocky Wirtz (who owns 20%).
This channel broadcasts regional coverage of professional sports teams in the Chicago metropolitan area, as well as college sports events and sports-related news, discussions and other sports-related entertainment programs. On January 5, 2009, the inaugural network of Monsters in the Morning, a weekday talk show hosted by former WSCR radio host Mike North and Comcast SportsNet Chicago reporter and former Chicago Bear And Jiggetts. Through majority ownership by the owners of each of the four teams, NBC Sports Chicago holds the rights of regional cable television to air the majority of games involving the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox Major League Baseball, the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Chicago Blackhawks. However, since Chicago is one of the few remaining US markets whose baseball and basketball teams are broadcasting their games both over the air and on local cables, the network shares broadcasting rights to all four teams with WGN-TV, while both share rights to Cubs with stations owned and operated ABC WLS-TV (channel 7). This network also holds broadcasting rights for a game involving Chicago Fire S.C. of Major League Soccer. The channel has held broadcasting rights for a busy Chicago Rush game from the Arena Football League.
On April 13, 2010, CSN Chicago announced that it had signed a contract with Chicago Fire S.C. to broadcast at least eight of the franchise games for the 2010 season; on January 26, 2015, Comcast SportsNet Chicago signed a three-year contract with Chicago Fire to become the exclusive local television broadcaster of the team, having played its game two years earlier on WPWR-TV.
The network also carries college sports events including football matches involving Northern Illinois University Huskies and a basketball game from Illinois State University Redbirds. Prior to the termination of the groupwide programming agreement Comcast SportsNet with Fox Sports Networks, CSN Chicago also broadcasted the FSN national program after the Chicago FSN closure, mainly including campus sports networks, such as the Atlantic Coast Conference horse games and women's basketball games (on Sundays), basketball games son of the Pac-12 Conference (on various nights) and college football games from the Big 12 Conference and the Pac-12 Conference (on Saturdays during autumn).

NBC Sports Chicago Plus
